My wife, Mary Frances and I moved from Charlottesville, VA four years ago to Louisa County, VA where we had a house built in the woods on 2 acres. I keep talking about retiring, however, that hasn't happened-still enjoy teaching.

Unfortunately, my wife and I will not be able to attend the 50th class reunion. I will be serving as academic dean for Semester at Sea this summer. We are sailing with 732 students and 31 faculty June 10th to August 21. We left from Fort Lauderdale, FL on June 10 and sailed to Halifax, Nova Scotia, CN to board the students for the Trans- Atlantic crossing. Our first port was Barcelona, Spain, then onto Civitavecchia and Naples, Italy. We sail tomorrow evening for Dubrovnik, Croatia; Piraeus (Athens), Greece; Istanbul, Turkey; Alexandria, Egypt, and Casablanca, Morocco. After Morocco, we sail to Norfolk, VA where we disembark. We stay in each of these countries on an average of four days giving the students and faculty the opportunity to have an experiential learning experience. Semester at Sea is partnered with the University of Virginia where I have been teaching for the past 41 years.
